The Road to Reuse
~~~
AMO Pollution Services, Inc. operated a hazardous
waste container storage facility on an 11.5-acre property
in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and specialized in
emergency response and cleanup operations for spills,
tank cleaning, and Superfund actions. These activities
were permitted by the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) under RCRA interim status. The
facility clean closed its storage facility in 1990. AMO
Pollution Services, Inc. went out of business in 1991
and additional clean-up activities of adjacent areas and
buildings were completed by the subsequent property
owner in 1992. The 11.5 acre site included a large
building used for administrative offices and a truck and
equipment maintenance area, and a smaller building that
served as a staging and storage area for incoming drums
of hazardous waste.
The 11.5 acre site is now reused as a sports training
