2020 Smart Way Truck Carrier Partner Tool:
What's New in this Version?
Version 2.0.19 of the Truck Tool contains a number of updates and revisions to the prior version, 2.0.18.
These updates have been implemented to enhance the usefulness, clarity and accuracy of the Tool, and
are summarized below:
New NOx, PM, and Black Carbon emission factors have been updated for calendar year 2019 from the
new MOVES model, version 2014b.
^ Removed questions on the General Info screen pertaining to long haul vs. short haul split, LTL-specific
question about weight and load, and optional questions about the Ozone Transportation Commission.
Removed required inputs from the Activity Data screen pertaining to truck cargo volume (and associated
volume calculator screen) and average used cargo volume percent to make data entry easier for the
user. This includes removal of these items from corresponding reports, and removing the grams per
thousand cubic foot-miles and grams per thousand utilized cubic foot-miles metrics from the Internal
Metrics report.
^ Added a requirement for greater-than-zero days on the road in the Idle Hours calculator.
Added black carbon emissions metrics and reefer fuel use to the year-to-year comparison report.
Miscellaneous text and format updates for clarification.
