The Fort Belvoir Engineer
Proving Ground (Fort Belvoir
EPG) is part of the U.S. Army
Garrison at Fort Belvoir, which
is located in the Commonwealth
of Virginia, 14 miles south of
Washington, DC. EPG is an
807-acre tract located 1.5 miles

acquired by the U.S. Army in

a testing and engineer training
site for methods and equipment
for deployment, detection, and
neutralization of land mines.
In support of the Base
Realignment and Closure Act
(BRAC) Act of 2005, the Fort
Belvoir EPG will be redeveloped
to support approximately 8,500
personnel that are scheduled
to arrive at Fort Belvoir EPG
over the next four years. Since
