An EPA-funded environmental assessment was conducted to assess the property for contaminants of concern that included metals, organochlorine pesticides, petroleum hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds. Petroleum hydrocarbons and lead were detected in soil samples above levels of potential concern. Recommendation; Brownfields cleanup alternatives identified for this property include additional sampling as well as excavation and off-site disposal of soil in selected areas based upon the assessment results. Future Use The local non-profit, All Five, considered using the property as an early child- care education center but has selected a different site. The church may have uses for the site. ------- |
