Happy New Year!
The CUPSS Team is kicking off 2016 with several new updates and upcoming events to
share!
CUPSS Version 1.3.9
The Check Up Program for Small Systems (CUPSS) has been upgraded! CUPSS Version
1.3.9 is now available on the CUPSS website. Enhancement to the software includes an
Asset Plus Costs report. The new report allows users to view asset details and the
associated O&M costs for the selected assets. As a result, users develop a snapshot of
the total costs of assets for the current year and previous years.
Remember that you can safely download the new version without losing any of your
existing data. Additional information on the new enhancements will be shared during
the CUPSS Community Call in February and the CUPSS Train-the-Trainer webinars in
March and September.

CUPSS Coordinator
There have recently been some changes in CUPSS
leadership at EPA!
Susanna Bains has taken the role of CUPSS
Coordinator within the Office of Ground Water and
Drinking Water (OGWDW) at EPA. Susanna has spent
the past year working on trainings, enhancements, and
technical assistance for CUPSS, and plansto continue
to find ways to further promote asset management for
small systems in 2016.
As part of these efforts, EPA is re-convening an Asset
Management Workgroup. This workgroup began in
2012 to identify best practices that states could use to
encourage asset management implementation at
drinking water systems. The workgroup developed two
products: 1) State Asset Management initiatives and 2)
The Reference Guide for Asset Management Tools, in
2016, the workgroup will build on this work to identify
ways states and TA providers can promote asset
management to local decision makers.
If you are interested in participating in the workgroup
or have any additional questions regarding asset
management activities, email
bains.susanna@epa.gov for more information,
