IOWA - EPA Map of Radon Zones The purpose of this map is to assist National, State and local organizations to target their resources and to implement radon-resistant building codes. This map is not intended to determine if a home in a given zone should be tested for radon. Homes with elevated levels of radon have been found in all three zones. All homes should be tested, regardless of zone designation. http://www.epa.gov/radon/zonemap.html WORTH HOWARD EMMET LYON i/VINNEBAGC ALLAMAKEE MITCHELL DICKINSON WINNE SHIEK KOSSUTH CERRO GORDO O'BR EN PALO ALTO CH CKASAW CLAY S OUX HANCOCK FLOYD HUMBOLDT BUENA VISTA FRANKLIN BREMER CLAYTON PLYMOUTH POCA- HONTAS BUTLER WRIGHT DELAWARE BLACK HAWK GRUNDY I I BUCHANAN DUBUQUE WOODBURY IDA CALHOUN JACKSON JONES BENTON MARSHALL CARROLL i | BOONE CRAWFORD i i GREENE MONONA STORY TAMA CL NTON AUDU BON HARRISON DALLAS POWESHIEK JOHNSON POLK OWA GUTHRIE SHELBY MUSCATINE WASHING TON MAHASKA WARREN ADAIR POTTAWATTAM E LOUISA KEOKUK MARION MAD SON HENRY WAPELLO CLARKE M LLS ADAMS LUCAS DES MOINES MONT- GOMERY MONROE VAN BUREN TAYLOR DECATUR APPANOOSE FREMONT DAV S R NGGOLD WAYNE Zone 1 Zone 2 Zone 3 IMPORTANT: Consult the publication entitled "Preliminary Geologic Radon Potential Assessment of Iowa" (USGS Open-file Report 93-292-G) before using this map. http://energy.cr.usgs.gov/radon/grpinfo.html This document contains information on radon potential variations within counties.
