KANSAS - EPA Map of Radon Zones The purpose of this map is to assist National, State and local organizations to target their resources and to implement radon-resistant building codes. This map is not intended to determine if a home in a given zone should be tested for radon. Homes with elevated levels of radon have been found in all three zones. All homes should be tested, regardless of zone designation. http://www.epa.gov/radon/zonemap.html DONIPHAN CHEYENNE WASHING- TON DECATUR PHILLIPS RAWLINS JEWELL NEMAHA SMITH NORTON MARSHALL REPUBLIC BROWN LEAVEN- WORTH SHERMAN SHERIDAN CLOUD POTTA- WATOMIE ATCHISON THOMAS MITCHELL ROOKS GRAHAM WYAN- DOTTE OSBORNE CLAY IJACKSON JEFF- ERSON RILEY OTTAWA WALLACE GOVE LINCOLN LOGAN SHAWNEE ELLIS GEARY TREGO RUSSELL DOUGLAS WABAUNSEE DICKIN- SON JOHNSON SALINE ELLSWORTH MORRIS OSAGE GREELEY SCOTT FRANK- LIN WICHITA RUSH NESS LANE BARTON MIAMI LYON V1CPHERS0N MARION RICE ANDER- SON CHASE FINNEY PAWNEE COFFEY HAMILTON HODGEMAN LINN KEARNY HARVEY STAFFORD RENO 3REENW00D ALLEN EDWARDS GRAY BOURBON BUTLER FORD STANTON HASKELL PRATT SEDGWICK GRANT KIOWA NEOSHO KINGMAN WILSON ELK MORTON SEWARD COWLEY CLARK STEVENS CHERO- KEE BARBER MONT- GOMERY SUMNER COMANCHE HARPER CHAUTAU- QUA LABETTE MEADE Zone 1 Zone 2 Zone 3 IMPORTANT: Consult the publication entitled "Preliminary Geologic Radon Potential Assessment of Kansas" (USGS Open-file Report 93-292-G) before using this map. http://energy.cr.usgs.gov/radon/grpinfo.html This document contains information on radon potential variations within counties.
