Volusia-Floridan Aquifer System; East-Central Florida. MISSISSIPPI Southern Hills Regional Aquifer System; Southwest Mississippi. ATTACHMENT B PROJECTS NOT TO BE REFERRED TO EPA Listed below are the types of Federal-aid projects assumed generally not to adversely affect ground water quality, and which therefore, will not normally be referred to the EPA Sole Source Aquifer Program. If, however, any of these types of projects can be deemed to stretch its bounds so that impacts to ground water may occur, EPA can request that the project be reviewed by the Sole Source Aquifer Program. 1. Planning activities. 2. Acquisition of land, with no developments planned. 3. Improvements to existing houses or other existing facilities, unless excavation of any type will occur. 4. Installation of fencing, signs, and markings. ATTACHMENT C PROJECTS WHICH WILL BE REFERRED TO EPA Federal-aid projects requiring referral to EPA Sole Source Program for review are as follows: 1. All projects for which an EIS or EA/FONSI will be prepared. 2. All projects involving livestock holding facilities or feedlots. 3. All projects requiring on-site sewage treatment. ------- 4. All projects which involve storage or handling of hazardous or toxic materials. 5. Any new construction that has the potential to contaminate the aquifer. 6. All projects for which the impacts to the Aquifers is uncertain.
