Water, sewer, natural gas, and electricity are available on-site.
Readiness for Use:
In continued use during the site's remediation: several warehous-
es, storage buildings, trailers, and large areas of unpaved land
used to store surplus vehicles and equipment.

residential section of the City
of Mount Pleasant, Gadsden
County, Florida.
SETTING:
•	The site and surrounding areas are zoned for rural
residential land uses.
•	Active surrounding land uses include single-
family residential areas, community land uses, and
agricultural land.
•	The Parramore Surplus Company site is bordered
to the north and east by agricultural land and single
family homes, to the west by a fire station, and to
south by a church.
•	Surrounding population: 0.5 mile, 53 people; 2.5
miles, 769 people; and 4 miles, 3,288 people.

REMEDIAL STATUS:
•	Remediation of the Parramore Surplus Company
Superfund site is complete. The site was deleted from
the National Priorities List in 1989.
•	Remedial activities at the site included the removal of
600 drums of hazardous chemicals, the excavation
and treatment of contaminated soil, and ground
water monitoring.
