Apartments, Condos, and Dorms With hot, dry weather continuing in our area, our water supplies are at risk due to shortages and drought conditions. We need everyone in our community to help save water for the places where we need it most—including firefighting, hospitals, and public health. You can make a difference in the community by showing your support for water conservation and doing what you can to save this precious resource. Here are a few tips to get you started. Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, washing your hands, or shaving will save up to 200 gallons of water per month! Shorten your showers by just one minute and you can save more than 500 gallons of water in a year and enough electricity to run your laptop! TURN OFF THE TAP SHAVE OFF GALLONS n. THINK AFTER YOU DRINK If you have water left in your reusable water bottle, pour whatever you didn't finish on your houseplants or save it in the fridge for later. TAKE A LOAD OFF Don't run a load of clothes or dishes until the washer is full. Doing just one less load of dishes a week saves over 300 gallons a year!
