PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The City of North Miami Beach Regional Potable Water Improvements project will upgrade the
water main distribution system and its existing treatment and auxiliary systems at the Norwood
Water Treatment Plant. Plant improvements will include replacing aged pipes, reducing
transmission main breaks, and securing drinking water supply to meet current and projected
2030 Average Daily Demand and Maximum Daily Demand.
PROJECT BENEFITS
•	Allows the City of North Miami Beach to meet current and projected 2030 Average Daily
Demand and current Maximum Daily Demand as required by the Florida Department of
Environmental Protection.
•	Reduces pressure losses and main breaks occurring throughout the distribution system.
•	Saves City of North Miami Beach an estimated $11.5 million from financing with a WIFIA
loan compared to a bond issuance.
