Monitored Natural Attenuation of Chlorinated Solvents
(EPA/600/F-98/022). This fact sheet was developed by the EPA
Kerr Environmental Research Laboratory. It explains what the term
Monitored Natural Attenuation means when the term is used to
describe a potential strategy to remediate a contaminated site. The
fact sheet is written for an audience with little or no scientific
background and was prepared to assist Federal and State
regulators to educate the general public on complex environmental
issue [May 1999, 3 pages]. View or download at

Evaluation (SITE) Program. It describes demonstrations conducted
to document performance of two sampling technologies [April 1999,
4 pages].
Sediments Research Website. This new web site has been
developed by the EPA Hazardous Substance Research Center-
South/Southwest. The purpose of the site is to bring together
researchers and practitioners who are working in the sediment
remediation field. The site has a growing number of technical
papers, reports, and articles relating to various contaminated
sediments articles. Sediments researchers and practitioners are
invited to enter professional information about themselves, add
bulletin board items, and submit technical papers for publication in
the site's online library. See http://www.sediments.org . Please contact
mark.hodaes@atri.aatech.edu if you have any comments or questions.
Technical and Regulatory Requirements for Enhanced In Situ
Bioremediation of Chlorinated Solvents in Groundwater
(ITRC/ISB-6). This document was published by the Interstate
Technology and Regulatory Cooperation (ITRC) Work Group. It was
developed to provide guidance to those considering the deployment
of enhanced in situ bioremediation of chlorinated solvents in
groundwater. It specifically deals with classes of remediation
systems designed to remediate or prevent further migration of
chlorinated solvents through use of enhancements to the subsurface
environment to accelerate solvent biodegradation [December 1998,
122 pages]. View or download at http://clu-in.ora/techpubs.htm .
Bibliography for Innovative Site Clean-Up Technologies:
August 1999 Update (EPA 542-B-99- 004). This publication was
produced by the EPA Technology Innovation Office. It contains
references for over 300 documents, databases, and web sites
related to field analytical and remediation technologies [August
1999, 16 pages]. View or download at hnD://du-in.0m/taChnuhs.htm . For hard

Decision, and Other Remedy Selection Decision Documents
(EPA 540-R-98-031). This guidance provides recommended formats
and content for Superfund remedial action decision documents;
clarifies roles and responsibilities of the U.S. EPA, Federal facilities,
States, and Indian Tribes in developing and issuing decision
documents; clarifies roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in the
remedy selection process; and explains how to address changes
made to proposed and selected remedies. This guidance addresses

Verification Study of Technologies to Determine Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil. As part of the Superfund
Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Program, the U.S. EPA
will be conducting a demonstration designed to verify the
performance of commercial technologies which can be used for the
identification and quantitation of various petroleum hydrocarbon
fractions in soil. To explain the demonstration process to potential
participants, an informational meeting will be held on September 15,
1999, at the EPA Laboratory in Las Vegas, Nevada. If you are
interested in attending the September 15 meeting, contact Dr.
Stephen Billets athiiiets.stenhen@ena.nnv as soon as possible.
11th National Technical Information Exchange (TIE) Workshop,
Las Vegas, October 26- 28. You are invited to give a presentation
at the Eleventh Technical Information Exchange (TIE) Workshop on
October 26-28, 1999. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy
Office of Environmental Restoration and hosted by the Nevada
Operations Office, the TIE Workshop is your opportunity to meet
with peers to find answers to environmental restoration problems or
to share solutions with them. For more information, visit
