Amphenol Cleanup Project Frequently Asked Questions Amphenol/Franklin Power Products Site Franklin, Indiana December 2019 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) consulted with contractors for Amphenol (IWM Consulting) and the city of Franklin (CrossRoad Engineers) to provide the following answers to the questions you may have about the ongoing sewer replacement work. The project is part of the environmental cleanup at the Amphenol site. These FAQs will be updated as needed. The sewer replacement is completed. During the remainder of the project, there will be no expected interruptions of mail delivery, emergency vehicle access, or trash pickup Q: When was the sewer replacement completed? A: The construction work for the sewer and soil excavation project ended on Nov. 9, 2019. Q: When will the sewer lining work start? A: The lining work is expected start in early December and be completed by Dec. 31, 2019. Q: How long will the lining work take? A: The lining work is expected to take no more than one week once it starts. Q: Where will the sewers be lined? A: See the figure on the back page. Lining will occur on segments of Ross Court, Glendale Drive, Hamilton Avenue, and a sewer connection between North Forsythe Street and Glendale Drive. Q: What will be used to line the sewers? A: The sewers will be lined with a styrene-free resin material (see illustration P. 2). The liner will be strong enough to serve as a pipe if the surrounding clay degrades. Q: When will the streets be repaved? A: Street repaving depends on weather. The temperature must be at least in the 40s with sufficient periods without rain for the asphalt work. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the repaving work will be finished in spring 2020. Repaving is expected to take about one week. ... continued on back ------- Q: When will my yard restoration be finished? A: Since we are past the growing season, the contractor will plant temporary seed or lay mulch to protect yards from erosion over the winter months. In the spring, the contractor will return to fix any yard erosion issues and plant grass seed. Q: I live within the boundaries of the project. How will I be able to get to and from my house during repaying and lining work? A: We do not expect any significant issues regarding reaching your property, although minor delays may occur depending upon the location of your home and where the paving and lining equipment are being used. Q: Will the contractor be working on weekends? A: The contractor will be able to work on Saturdays if it chooses, but no Sunday work is anticipated. Q: What hours will the contractor be working? A: Work will be allowed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved by the city of Franklin. Q: Will my sewer be cut off during the sewer lining process? A: There may be interruptions of your connection to the sewer during the lining project, but the total length of time is not expected to last more than eight hours. The construction team will make every attempt to communicate with each household beforehand via door hangers, email notifications, or door-to-door notifications for the residents to plan accordingly.
