2011 Paul G. Keough Earth Artist Program

Do Your Students Have Great Ideas About Helping to Better Their
Environment and Community?

This year EPA would like participants to focus on how our environmental challenges can be addressed in their
schools and/or communities. We ask that students and teachers problem solve and create
posters or poems suggesting actions that they and others can take to

increase awareness &
protect the environment.

For example, what can your class do to improve recycling in your school? Or how can a

community work to increase energy efficiency? Whatever notion they use, no matter how widely used

or original, the goal is to get students thinking about the problem and then creatively expressing their solutions.

"Participants that put their solutions into practice are welcome to submit video footage documenting your efforts.
