Pesticide Worker Protection

Under FIFRA Section 33(c)(3)(B), the EPA is authorized to use 1/17 of the amount of the
Pesticide Registration Fund (but not less than $1 million) to enhance current scientific and
regulatory activities related to worker protection and $500,000 in each fiscal year, 2013 through
2017, for funding of the Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP). These set-aside
provisions were extended through fiscal year 2018 by continuing resolution and the FY' 18
omnibus spending bill.

In FY' 18, the agency developed enhancements within the following focus areas: Prevention -
Safety Training, Response- Poisoning Recognition, Sound Decision Data, and Inform - Risk
Management. Table 1 in Appendix A lists the activities funded in FY' 18.
