Implementing the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act - Fiscal Year 2013 Tenth Annual Report March 1, 2014 ------- Implementing the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act — Fiscal Year 2013 Pesticide Registration Service Fees Accomplishments Pesticide Worker Protection Under FIFRA Section 33(c)(3)(B), the EPA is authorized to use 1/17 of the amount of the Pesticide Registration Fund (but not less than $1 million) to enhance current scientific and regulatory activities related to worker protection and $500,000 in each fiscal year, 2013 through 2017, for funding of the Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP). The agency worked closely with worker safety stakeholders through the agency's Federal Advisory Committee, the Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC), to determine which activities to enhance with PRIA funds. Based on the advice of the PPDC, the agency decided to develop enhancements within the following focus areas: Prevention - Safety Training, Response - Poisoning Recognition, Sound Decision Data, and Inform - Risk Management.
