exposure to LA. LA poses the
greatest threat when it is
airborne.
For a lower risk of exposure,
focus on keeping contaminated
soil from being disturbed in your
yard and trapped in your home.

Outdoors:
DON'T disturb areas
where you can see
vermiculite (see pictures on
back). Find other places
to play or garden.

DO water often. A healthy
lawn reduces dust and
contact with bare soil.
DO mow your lawn when
it's damp - not when it's dry
and dusty.
DON'T dig, cultivate, or
roto-till your garden soil
when it is dry and dusty,
and do suppress any dust
with water.
DO rinse off gardening
tools outside.
DON'T buy or accept free
topsoil or fill from an
unknown source. If you are
unsure, call the EPA Info
Center.
