Both roofs contain a lightweight soil mixture, 6" to 15" deep, that is planted with a variety of hearty grasses suitable for Oklahoma's variable climate. There are six drains located throughout the length of the roof and an irrigation system supplements watering needs two to three times per week. Since the roof's installation in 2004, maintenance staff have only reported a minor leak along the east edge of the roof due to a tear in the flashing. Repairs were made in 2008 and no further problems have been reported since. The staff regularly receives compliments on the design. The 3rd floor green roof covers approximately 2800 sq.ft. of impervious surface. The 2nd floor green roof. The larger of the two, this roof covers 8500 sq. ft. of impervious surface. EPA Region 6 seeks to provide information and recognition for green infrastructure projects within our Region.
