Overview of New York's Planned Activities New York seeks to improve data management and processes for solid waste and recycling data collection. New York will accomplish this goal by improving its data systems, which will enhance the speed and efficiency of the state's data management processes. The state will identify data gaps and target those gaps for future data collection improvements. In addition, New York will draft user guidance, seek feedback, and revise data processing procedures to improve the usability of its systems. Revision to the data processing procedures will make the data available to the regulated community and the public in a more timely, widely available manner. SWIFR Grants for States and Territories The 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides the largest EPA investment in recycling in 30 years to support National Recycling Strategy implementation and build a circular economy for all. As part of the Investing in America agenda, this funding can be used to develop or update plans to advance post-consumer materials management, implement those plans, and to improve data collection efforts. These grants also advance the Justice^ Initiative, which aims to ensure that 40% of the overall benefits of certain Federal investments flow to disadvantaged communities that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution. EPA will make the award to New York once all legal and administrative requirements are satisfied.
