PROGRAM The Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program accelerates investment in our nation's water infrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. BALTIMORE CITY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT NAME Water Infrastructure Rehabilitation 2020 LOCATION: Baltimore, MD INVITED WIFIA LOAN AMOUNT $29 million POPULATION SERVED BY PROJECT 1,800,000 PROJECT TYPE: Drinking Water PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Baltimore City Water Infrastructure Rehabilitation 2020 will rehabilitate pumps and filters at the Montebello and Ashburton Pumping Stations. The purpose of the projects is to address reliability, improve performance of the water distribution system, and provide direct public health benefits such as improved drinking water quality and reduction of waterborne diseases.
