PROGRAM The Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program accelerates investment in our nation's water infrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. WATER AUTHORITY OF GREAT NECK NORTH PROJECT NAME Waternnill Lane Emerging Contaminant Water Treatment and Watermain Upgrade Projects LOCATION: Great Neck, NY INVITED WIFIA LOAN AMOUNT $16 million POPULATION SERVED BY PROJECT: 32,400 PROJECT TYPE Drinking Water PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Watermill Lane Emerging Contaminant Water Treatment and Watermain Upgrade Projects will install a new treatment system at the Watermill Lane facility to reduce concentrations of 1,4-dioxane, PFOA, and PFOS in the drinking water supply at this location. In addition, the projects will replace approximately 6,100 linear feet of water main with new 12-inch diameter water main. The purpose of the projects is to meet new PFOA and PFOS maximum contaminant levels and to deliver finished water from Great Neck North's wells. 25 million in 20 states Selected projects must submit an application for a WIFIA loan, pass a creditworthiness assessment, negotiate a mutually agreeable term sheet, and execute a credit agreement to receive WIFIA funding. An invitation to apply indicates that EPA believes the selected projects will be able to attain WIFIA loans.
