PROGRAM The Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program accelerates investment in our nation's water infrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. CITY OF SAN BUENAVENTURA PROJECT NAME VenturaWaterPure LOCATION: Ventura, CA INVITED WIFIA LOAN AMOUNT $125 million POPULATION SERVED BY PROJECT: 113,500 PROJECT TYPE: Water Reuse PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The VenturaWaterPure Project will design and construct treatment and conveyance facilities to augment the City's potable water supplies with purified local recycled water and groundwater. The purpose of the project is to develop a new local, drought-resilient water supply to enhance the City's long-term supply reliability, improve the quality of groundwater and delivered supplies, and help protect and improve the ecological resources and beneficial uses of the Santa Clara River Estuary. 25 million in 20 states Selected projects must submit an application for a WIFIA loan, pass a creditworthiness assessment, negotiate a mutually agreeable term sheet, and execute a credit agreement to receive WIFIA funding. An invitation to apply indicates that EPA believes the selected projects will be able to attain WIFIA loans.
