WIFIA PROGRAM The Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program accelerates investment in our nation's water :nfrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. CITY OF SANDY PROJECT NAME: Wastewater System Improvements Project — Phase 1 LOCATION: Sandy, OR INVITED WIFIA LOAN AMOUNT $33 million POPULATION SERVED BY PROJECT: 11,075 PROJECT TYPE: Combined PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Wastewater System Improvements Project Phase 1 will improve three major components of the City's existing wastewater facilities to provide a year-round discharge to a water body with greater assimilative capacity. The project will include: 1) rehabilitation of the collection system in the City's two largest sewersheds; 2) construction of the new Eastside Satellite membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment plant; and 3) construction of a new Sandy River outfall. The purpose of the project is to reduce peak flows, expand wastewater treatment capacity, and provide a year-round discharge to a larger receiving waterbody. FY 2020 SELECTION ROUND NUMBER OF PROJECTS SELECTED: 55 TOTAL LOAN AMOUNT $5.1 billion TOTAL WATER INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT SUPPORTED: $12.5 billion NUMBER OF PEOPLE IMPACTED: 25 million in 20 states Selected projects must submit an application for a WIFIA loan, pass a creditworthiness assessment, negotiate a mutually agreeable term sheet, and execute a credit agreement to receive WIFIA funding.
