WIFIA PROGRAM The Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program accelerates investment in our nation's water :nfrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. Harrington Water Treatment Plants Project LOCATION: Nashville, TN INVITED WIFIA LOAN AMOUNT $129 million POPULATION SERVED BY PROJECT: 722,043 PROJECT TYPE Drinking Water PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Process Advancements at Omohundro and K.R. Harrington Water Treatment Plants Project will include installing GAC post filter adsorbers at both facilities to achieve water quality and process enhancements, upgrading the Omohundro Water Treatment Plant to increase the capacity from 90 million gallons per day (MGD) to 120 MGD, and constructing a new 120 MGD raw water pumping station. The purpose of this project is to provide water quality advances beyond the existing water treatment process including addressing a wide range of emerging contaminants. FY 2020 SELECTION ROUND NUMBER OF PROJECTS SELECTED: 55 TOTAL LOAN AMOUNT $5.1 billion TOTAL WATER INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT SUPPORTED: $12.5 billion NUMBER OF PEOPLE IMPACTED: 25 million in 20 states Selected projects must submit an application for a WIFIA loan, pass a creditworthiness assessment, negotiate a mutually agreeable term sheet, and execute a credit agreement to receive WIFIA funding.
