EPA CLEANUP ACTIVITIES
Basic Site Information—2018

The scope of work in 2018 involves
placement of the eco-layer in Area
A, the Island Area and the ABD as
well as site restoration. Hydraulic
dredging, processing and off-site
disposal of sediment containing
mainly mercury and lead in a 36-
acre area within Pompton Lake
called the Acid Brook Delta (ABD)
is complete. The work will be per-
formed by The Chemours Company
FC, LLC., through its contractor,
Sevenson Environmental Services
with EPA/NJDEP oversight.

EPA's 71st update is to inform the community of the progress of activities

related to the dredging being performed on the 36-acre portion of the

Pompton Lake Study Area known as the Acid Brook Delta (ABD).

Last activities performed (week of December 18th):

~	Continued demobilization of sediment processing equipment.

~	Continued trucking of dredged material residuals from demobilization
to the off-site landfill facility as needed.

~	On December 21st and 22nd, a total of 21 trucks were loaded with
dredged material residuals from the demobilization of sediment pro-
cessing equipment at the site.

~	A total of 2781 truckloads have been shipped off-site through Decem-
ber 22nd.

~	Turbidity/dust/mercury monitoring completed— data on website:
(www.pomptonlakesworks.com/pompton-lake-project/environmental-
monitoring).

Activities scheduled (week of February 19th):

~	Resume equipment demobilization activities.

~	Continue routine inspection of site work areas per approved permits
and for safety purposes.

Note:

HYDRAULIC AND MECHANICAL DREDGING ARE COMPLETE.

EQUIPMENT DEMOBILIZATION ACTIVITIES WILL RESUME
ON FEBRUARY 20TH AND CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 2-3
WEEKS PENDING WEATHER.

TRAFFIC CONTROLS WILL BE IN PLACE AS HEAVY EQUIP-
MENT WILL BE MOVED OFF-SITE.

Eco-layer placement will be performed beginning Spring 2018 in con-
junction with site restoration. The overall schedule for completion of
the work in 2018 is unchanged.
