Complete Your EPA SBIR Registration Requirements. Are you

considering submitting a proposal to the next EPA SBIR solicitation? EPA's
SBIR Program requires multiple registrations prior to submitting a proposal
The registration process takes time, so it's important to start your
registrations early. With the next EPA SBIR solicitation anticipated to open
in June, now is a great time to ensure your registrations are complete and

Blue Cyber Initiative Launched to Support Small Business
Cybersecurity. The Department of the Air Force launched the Blue Cyber

outreach initiative to help small business contractors better understand
cybersecurity best practices. The goal of this effort is to ensure small
businesses are aware of cybersecurity and information protection
requirements and know about the state and federal resources available to
implement them. Learn more about the Blue Cyber Education Series and

SBIR Small Busoness Spotlight

OLIN, an SBIR small business based in
Pennsylvania, has used EPA SBIR fundinc to
develop an engineered soil product and
manufacturing process that repurposes waste-
stream glass and food waste compost into soil
suitable for horticultural and green infrastructure projects. Over the course
of their SBIR project, OLIN has collaborated with Philadelphia Parks and
Recreation to retrofit a local stormwater bioretention basin damaged in
Hurricane Ida. This pilot project will help expand understanding of glass-
based soil's effect on water flow and quality as well as its suitability as a
planting medium. OLIN has also received an Honor Award in Research from
the American Society of Landscape Architecture which recognizes research
that identifies and investigates challenges posed in landscape architecture.

Aquagga Inc., an EPA SBIR small business based i
VJ,. Anunnnn Washington, is developing a novel PFAS technology
*¦	leveraging a hydrothermal alkaline treatment (HAL1

process to mineralize PFAS and convert the
compounds into non-toxic salts. Over the course of their project, Aquagga's
technology has demonstrated the ability to destroy >99% of PFAS in fire
training pond liquids. Aquagga was recently awarded a contract with Defens
Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to advance a scaled-up HALT
system to be used for field demos and remediation projects at multiple air
force bases including one in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The next EPA SBIR solicitation is anticipated to be released in June 2023
