PROGRAM The Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program accelerates investment in our nation's water infrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. CITY OF SAN DIEGO PROJECT NAME: Stormwater Capital Improvement Program LOCATION: Sari Diego, CA INVITED WIFIA LOAN AMOUNT $263 million POPULATION SERVED BY PROJECT: 1,430,000 PROJECT TYPE: Stormwater PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of San Diego Stormwater Capital Improvement Program will include planning, design, and construction of all assets within the City's Stormwater System including natural waterways, conveyance pipes, outfalls, drains, pump stations, channels, and green infrastructure. The purpose of these projects is to improve the water quality of stormwater and reduce flood risk via the replacement, implementation, or restoration of deteriorated stormwater infrastructure that has reached its useful life and incorporate new stormwater mitigation methods to prioritize and meet stormwater requirements.
