Notes:

1. WQX Project Status Report (10 mins)

The Helpdesk support has been operating at normal status. Contact Us: weekday hours of 8am to
6pm EST. Email Cwax@epa.qov') Call 800-424-9067. Following an Operating System patch EPA's
www3 Archive web server continues to experiencing intermittent issue publishing files for public
access. The issue was identified as intermittent and resolved. Users may be impacted by a
delayed Portal refresh event (https://www.waterqualitydata.us/data/lastETL). Note - The WQP
Refresh status is located at the bottom of Water Quality Portal homepage's footer section.

WQX successfully completed a WQX Web Azure Cloud migration event on June 30, 2022. During
this event, the WQX Web application was deployed to a New cloud application server. SOME
user impact expected: Users may experience some impact as a reduction in processing
performance compared to the current "on-premise" server environment. Application will inherit
new network latency transferring data from Cloud application server to the database server
(separate location).

Note - WQX Web supports a new dataset import limit of less than 30,000 records (25k
recommended). XML uncompressed file sizes are limited to 350 MB. One-to-many records and
attached binary objects will contribute to the overall file size limit.

Upcoming event - On August 1, 2022, WQX will deploy a critical patch to the PRODUCTION
node's XML parse and load software to improve database session management. There are two
WQX Web Performance Tuning Issues: Fix bug with WQX Web export xml - very slow; Fix bug

with WQX Web re-validate button (slow) - domain values are resolved online without re-
importing.

There are two planned maintenance events: The WQX Staging environment will perform a
database upgraded on Friday August 26th at 6 PM EST. This will require at least 3 hours
downtime for the applications. Once the upgrade is available in Staging, a period of testing the
system between August 29th and September 7th has been planned before updating WQX
Production. WQX Production environment will be upgraded on September 9th

2. WQX Tip of the month - Attaching files.

1) WQX supports the attachment of multiple files, pictures, or other attachments (objects) at all
levels of the WQX data structure, including Projects, Monitoring Locations, Activities, and
Results.

Files may include: QAPPs, documents, photos, images, geospatial coverages, sound files, etc.

More and more of these types of ancillary data are starting to show up in services such as How's
My Waterway. Soon individual station pages will be added where site photos uploaded to WQX
would be visible and available in the application.
