PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The City of Englewood's One Water Modernization Program upgrades outdated and aging
water infrastructure in a water constrained and rapidly changing region. The program will
protect its wastewater system from the impacts of extreme weather events, promote
regulatory compliance, and protect natural resources through conservation and advanced
treatment. With this loan, Englewood will modernize its wastewater treatment and conveyance
systems by making treatment and process improvements to address aging infrastructure and
replacing outdated electrical and control systems. Chemical and ultraviolet treatment
improvements will help to assure effluent quality complies with state limits for nitrates. In
addition, they will establish a wastewater pilot and research center to test new technologies
and treatment equipment.
