PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Water Main and Lead Service Line Replacement Program will replace water mains and the
associated lead service lines in the City of Chicago's drinking water distribution system. The purpose of
these projects is to remove lead service lines from the Chicago water distribution system to limit
negative public health effects.

Selected projects must submit an application for a WIFIA loan, pass a creditworthiness assessment,
negotiate a mutually agreeable term sheet, and execute a credit agreement to receive WIFIA funding.
An invitation to apply indicates that EPA believes the selected projects will be able to attain WIFIA loans.
