PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Wastewater Infrastructure Rehabilitation projects will modernize major components of the

Together, the projects will safeguard public health and water quality. They will support
continued regulatory compliance, reduced public exposure to sewer overflows, and decreased
nutrient discharges into the Chesapeake Bay. Consistent with the city's Equitable Action Plan,
which ensures fairly apportioned funding across the service area, historically underserved
communities will directly benefit from these projects.

PROJECT BENEFITS

•	Helps ensure continued regulatory compliance.

•	Improves water quality by reducing sewer overflows and the levels of nutrients entering
the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

•	Saves Baltimore City Department of Public Works an estimated $51.2 million by
financing with a WIFIA loan.
