Federal Facilities Factsheet
EPA - REGION 6, 6EN-XP - 1445 Ross Avenue - Dallas, Texas 75202-2733

Did You Know?: The Clean Air Act (CAA) was authorized by Congress in 1990 to
direct the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate the emissions of Perchloroethylene
(40 CFR Part 63 Subpart M).

Recently EPA-Region 6 conducted inspections at several Federal facilities that used contracted
dry cleaning services. The findings indicated that the Federal facilities should conduct periodic compliance
audits of these services, and assure that they comply with Federal Regulations prior to contracts being
awarded.
