PROGRAM The Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program accelerates investment in our nation's water infrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost supplemental loans for regionally and nationally significant projects. The purpose of these projects is to improve drinking water quality, improve raw water source quality, improve drought preparedness, reduce disinfection by-products, reduce corrosion, improve safety and reliability, and prepare for the effects of degraded water quality due to wildfires in the watershed.
