PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Stormwater Management Project is a series of eight individual projects that will increase
the Baltimore City Department of Public Works' capacity for stormwater treatment. Together,
they will improve water quality, help address flooding issues, and modernize existing drainage
infrastructure. Through implementing stormwater best practices, the City of Baltimore wi
make progress toward its goal to restore 20 percent of the service area's impervious surface
area. Consistent with the city's Equitable Action Plan, which ensures fairly apportioned funding
across the service area, historically underserved communities will directly benefit from these
projects.

PROJECT BENEFITS

•	Addresses historically underprioritized stormwater improvements and increases the
system's capacity for stormwater treatment.

•	Improves water quality by reducing the level of nutrients and suspended solids entering
the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

•	Accelerates funding and saves Baltimore City Department of Public Works an estimated
$9.2 million by financing with a WIFIA loan.
