EPA SBIR Highlights Small Businesses Developing Materials
Technologies That Support a Circular Economy. The EPA SBIR team
recently published a topic-focused piece highlighting projects promoting
the circular economy being supported by EPA's SBIR program. The story
focuses on six EPA SBIR funded small businesses developing innovative
technologies to optimize sustainable materials management, reduce
waste and slow climate change.

Complete Your EPA SBIR Registration Requirements. The next EPA
SBIR solicitation is anticipated to open in June. Are you up to date on
your required registrations? Multiple registrations are required prior to
submitting an EPA SBIR proposal. The registration process takes time, so
it's important to start early to ensure your registrations are complete and

EPA Announces Funding from Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and
Inflation Reduction Act. Two new pieces of legislation have allocated
additional fundinc to EPA. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law allocates
funding to strengthen water infrastructure, address climate change and
create a more equitable future. The Inflation Reduction Act offers funding
and incentives to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy.

SBIR Small Business Spotlight

LeapFrog Design, an EPA SBIR small business
based in Oregon, recently won The Indus
Entrepreneurs Pitch Oregon competition. This event
showcases talent and innovation among
entrepreneurs and startups in the Pacific Northwest.

LeapFrog's SBIR project is focused on developing a
modular ecological water treatment system for
onsite capture and non-potable reuse from single-
family residences.

Wisely, Inc., an EPA SBIR small business based in
North Carolina, recently received a grant through the
state of North Carolina. This funding matches Wisely's
EPA SBIR Phase I award to develop a smart food
storage system to reduce household food waste by
allowing users to track perishables.

The next EPA SBIR solicitation is anticipated to be released in June 2023.
