W — Stormwater Reuse Timber Creek High School Keller, Texas Timber Creek High School and the Keller Independent School District have incorporated green infrastructure and low impact development elements into their design and construction in order to conserve water, help with flood mitigation, and provide runoff management. Opening in August 2009, site features at Timber Creek High School include sedimentation/retention ponds; bio-swales, stormwater reuse (for irrigation); and native plantings. Repurposed rock excavation and balanced earthwork were also part of the construction process. Implementing these practices have resulted in 80% total suspended solids removal, reduced water consumption saving approximately $130,000 per year, and controlled peak runoff discharges. These features also provide onsite education tools. This project is one of the first City of Fort Worth stormwater credit projects.
