Minutes Chesapeake Bay Program Monitoring and Analysis Subcommittee Indicator Workgroup Tuesday, January 23, 2007, 9-10:30 a.m. Meeting Materials Posted at http://www.chesapeakebav.net/irw.htm (Click on the calendar entry for the 01/23/07 meeting) Attendance: John Wolf, Jeff Sweeney, Nita Sylvester, Brent McCloskey, Michael Williams, Jeni Keisman, Jamie Bosiljevac, Mike Land, Katherine Dowell, Jane Ballentine, Ben Longstaff Demonstration of how we will be using the web to feature Assessment information and to "drill down" to supporting level indicator information - Mike Land Mike Land gave the workgroup a preview of the redesigned Chesapeake Bay Program website. The idea is to provide news stories that link to the indicators. The overall design is aligned with the indicators framework that includes Bay Health and Restoration. All the slides, methods and data will be able to be downloaded from the annual assessment and reporting level indicator pages. The main entry webpage for the Assessment will feature the annual assessments as well as the summer forecast and "lookback". The summer forecast will have tracking tabs of updates for each month along with a final tab to show how accurate the forecast was. The web team is currently assessing where their progress is and when the final website launch will be. They would like it to be aligned with the 2006 Bay Health assessment report release. If it is not ready then, Mike will do some tweaking to the current Bay Trends and Indicators webpage to align it with the Assessments, temporarily. John Wolf brought up a good point that some reporting level indicators may not have a geographical map associated with it, because some indicators do not have % goal at the segment level. Maps that display data that is not associated with a goal could be made available at the diagnostic level. Also, Mike Land will make the point of contact for the indicators link to a form rather than a direct email to make it hard for people to send "spam". 2006 Assessment - All Subcommittee representatives provided updates on their ability to provide 2006 data by Feb 2.
