xvEPA United States Environmental Protection Agency Zinc Production Subpart GG, Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program Measure these parameters for each Waelz kiln or electrothermic furnace: What Must Be Monitored? If NOT using a continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS): ~ Monthly mass of each carbon (C)-containing input material (e.g., zinc (Zn) bearing material, flux materials, C electrodes) fed, charged, or introduced to each Waelz kiln or electrothermic furnace (tons). ~ C content of each input material (using three representative samples analyzed annually or using information provided by material supplier) (% by weight). ~ Operating hours for all Waelz kilns and electrothermic furnaces used in Zn production (hours). ~ Monthly production quantity for each Zn product (tons). If using a CEMS, in addition to the monitoring requirements under 40 CFR Subpart C for the Tier 4 Calculation Methodology, measure these parameters on an annual basis: ~ Facility production quantity for each Zn product (tons). ~ Operating hours for all Waelz kilns and electrothermic furnaces used in Zn production (hours). ~ Monthly production quantity for each Zn product (tons).
