EPA's 35th update is to inform the community of the progress of
activities related to the upcoming dredging that will be performed on
that 36-acre portion of the Pompton Lake Study Area known as the
Acid Brook Delta (ABD). The dredging work is scheduled to com-
mence in the Spring 2017, but has yet to start.

Preparatory activities underway since January relate to the fact that
the method of dredging in 2017 (hydraulic dredging) is different
than the dredging performed in 2016 (mechanical dredging).

Preparatory activities currently underway (week of April 10th):

~	Continued installation of sediment processing and water treat-
ment equipment needed for 2017 work including filter presses
and conveyor belts.

~	Two dredges mobilized and placed in the water.

~	Completion of turbidity curtain installation around the ABD.

~	Securing permit modifications addressing changes in the sedi-
ment treatment processes

~	Continue routine inspection of site and work areas per approved
permits and for safety reasons.

Preparatory activities scheduled (week of April 17th):

~	Continue installation of sediment processing and water treatment
equipment needed for 2017 work.

~	Re-installation of section of permanent fence removed to accom-
modate large trailers with sediment processing equipment to be
mobilized to the project site.

~	Bathymetric surveying.

~	Initiate fish relocation.

~	Continue routine inspection of site and work areas per approved
permits and for safety purposes.

We have attached Q&As based on questions raised during the
March 30th Public Availability session. Photos of the preparatory
activities have also been provided with this update.

Chemours' contractor, Sevenson Environmental Services will be
working at the project site this Saturday, April 22nd from 8AM
till 5:30PM. The work will include continued mobilization and
set-up of equipment that will be used for dredging.
