EPA is providing information on food grade C02 suppliers and producers in the event that water utilities need to identify alternative companies, pursuant to Section 1442(a)(2) of the Safe Drinking Water Act1. EPA does not endorse companies or specific products, absent any statutory authority to do so, and recommends that utilities contact individual companies for additional information. Food Grade C02 Suppliers There are relatively few C02 suppliers, and they are listed below. Many of them operate in multiple states. Facilities that produce food grade C02 often sell that C02 to a supplier that can process (e.g., purify, compress) and deliver the C02 to water utilities and other customers.
