¦¦ 	 -*¦ ;

Acute toxicity - For technical dinocap, the acute oral
LD50 in rats is §80 rag/kg.

Chronic Toxicity - Dinocap produces developmentally toxic
effects in rabbits. For oral exposure, the NOEL for these
effects is .5 mg/kg/day; for dermal exposure, the NOEL is
50 mg/kg/day.

4. Summary of Proposed Regulatory Position

The Agency is propos ing that current registrat ions for
the use of dinocap on agricultura.1 and nonfood crops will
be allowed to cont.inue provided the following conditions and
label modifications are met to reduce applicator exposure:

1.	require ground boom, airblast and mist blower equipment
to be drawn by enclosed vehicles

2.	reclassify as a restricted use pest ic ide requiring
the physical presence of the certified applicator

3.	require use of a developmental toxicity warning on the
label:

"Use of this product may be hazardous to your
health. This product has been determined to
cause birth defects in laboratory animals."

4. require use of water-soluble packaging for wettable
powder formulations
