EPA 2022 Green Chemistry Challenge Awards Nominations
Now Open
EPA is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Green Chemistry
Challenge Awards. These prestigious annual awards recognize
innovation and chemical technologies by American small
businesses and researchers that incorporate green chemistry into
chemical design, manufacture, and use. The 2022 awards will
also recognize green chemical technologies that address climate
change. Nominations are due December 10. Register for the

SBIR Small Business Spotlight
XIMAX Technologies Corporation Ltd. an EPA SBiR Phase II
small business out of Colorado, was awarded EPA SBIR
commercialization option funding of nearly $100,000. This option
matches $100,000 in funding XIMAX secured from an angel
investor. With this funding, XIMAX will further advance their Phase
il EPA SBiR project to develop and commercialize a green rooftop
technology with superior energy efficiency for commercial
buildings.
METSS Corporation, an EPA SBIR Phase II small business out of
Ohio, was awarded EPA SBIR commercialization option funding
of $100,000. This option matches $100,000 in private investment
METSS secured from a company interested in novel disinfection
technologies. METSS will use this additional funding to further
their Phase II EPA SBIR project to develop of a safe, robust,
rapid, and effective chlorine dioxide gas dispersion system to be
used for on-site room decontamination in hospital and non-
hospital settings.

Program supports small businesses to
develop and commercialize novel
environmental technologies that
support this mission.

Phase I awards are $100,000 for six
months for "proof of concept" of the
technology.

Phase II awards are up to 5400,000
for two years to further develop and
commercialize the technology. Phase
II companies that obtain qualifying
third-party investments are eligible
for a commercialization option of
SI 00,000.
