f/EPA www.epa.gov/region10/tri < 2011 Toxics Release Inventory Region 10 Report January 2013 Releases in Region 10 What is a Release? in 2011, 730 Region 10 TRi facilities reported 1.1 billion pounds of toxic chemical disposal and releases, an increase of 23%, or 214 million pounds, from 2010. Region 10 includes Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. A TRI "release" is defined as the amount of a toxic chemical released, or disposed of, on-site (to air, water, underground injection, landfills, and other land disposal), and the amount transferred off-site for disposal. All releases values in this report are listed in pounds released in 2011.
