Corrigenda: Climate Change Indicators in the United States, Fifth Edition These corrections were incorporated into the report on September 6, 2024. Heat on the Rise Chapter Page 20: clarified the source in the text and added an endnote: New text: "According to the National Weather Service,13 heat is a leading weather-related killer in the United States, even though most heat-related illnesses and deaths are preventable through outreach and intervention." Deleted text: "Heat is the leading weather-related killer in the United States, even though most heat-related illnesses and deaths are preventable through outreach and intervention." Rising Seas Chapter Pages 69-71: revised text and figure captions to update the number of sites from 43 to 42, and revised Figures 47 and 48 to account for updated Alaska data for Adak Island, Sitka, and Ketchikan. Previously accessed downloadable annual counts of flood days on NOAA's web portal were based on inaccurate flood thresholds for the sites in Alaska. NOAA provided EPA with revisions to the data for three sites in Alaska that were originally included in the chapter (Ketchikan, Sitka, and Adak Island). Due to an insufficient number of floods over the period of record (based on the new threshold), the Ketchikan site was excluded. Endnotes Page 84: added a new endnote to related to the revision in the Heat on the Rise chapter: "13 NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). (2023).
