United States Environmental Protection Agency Air and Radiation (6204J) Washington, DC EPA430/F-92/024 October 1992 <&ER<\ Acid Rain Hotline (617) 674-7377 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern Standard Time n 1991, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created the Acid Rain Hotline to respond to questions, provide general information, and disseminate EPA documents related to the Acid Rain Program to all interested parties. The Hotline provides its semces to several groups, including trade associations, consumer groups, businesses, state and local government agencies, and the general public. The Hotline assists callers who have specific technical questions by forward- ing these inquiries to experienced EPA Acid Rain Division personnel, who review them and respond to the caller, usually within 24 hours. Utilities may find the Hotline especially useful for obtaining information that may help them comply with the acid rain regulations. Contains infor- mation on the March 13, 1991 Air Quality Agreement between the United States and Canada and initial activities of the Air Quality Committee- Also pro- vides background information on the air pollution programs in both countries and discusses progress in implementing the objectives of the agreement. Provides an overview and discusses the in- terdependence of the Acid Rain Core Rules — Permits, the Allowance System, Con- tinuous Emission Monitoring, and Excess Emissions.
