CAA Inspections
For FY07, the number of CAA inspections reflects the number of full compliance evaluations. This differs from FY06, which counted the
number of CAA inspections by program type at a facility (e.g., MACT, Title V, SIP) within each full compliance evaluation.
Source: EPA's Integrated Database for Enforcement Analysis (IDEA), March 2008 refresh.
Notes:
1. All facilities are included when there was an inspection. This includes non-federally reportable facilities. It should be noted that
information on non-federally reportable facilities could be limited as states are not required to report such information to EPA. This
method differs from FY06, which considered inspection activity only at active federally reportable facilities.
2. For FY07, a federal facility was included based on flags contained within the legacy systems (e.g., AFS, RCRA) and FRS. This differs
from FY06, where a federal facility was included based on flags contained within the legacy systems alone. It should be noted that some
records within these tables may not actually comport to "Federal Facilities". They represent facilities flagged as federal by EPA Regions.
Due to practical considerations FFEO's quality review did not extend itself to certifying individual records as representing "Federal
Facilities".
3. Included EPA and state inspections under CAA are as follows: EPA conducted FCE/On-Site (FE), EPA conducted FCE/Off-Site (FZ),
State conducted FCE/On-Site (FS), State conducted FCE/Off-Site (FF).
